Eat Drink & Be Mary: Meet the Blogger!

Meet the Blogger!

Meet Mary. The girl behind this little ole blog.

I'm a girl in her twenties, and a recent newlywed.

Learning to embrace this season I'm at in my life, with my new husband holding my hand.

After a long season of waiting, (while learning to love long distance), Thomas and I married in August and I moved to SC to start our life together.

Facts:  I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education, and am currently teaching 6th grade.  I can't function without coffee (preferably iced).  I'd wear leggings everyday if I could and love a good Netflix binge.

Meet Thomas.  [aka: Mr. Persistent]

The boy man behind the blog, my number one supporter, my sweet husband, and the cutest ginger there is.

The man that taught me how to laugh at myself, how to be patient, and the meaning of true love.

Our Relationship.

Thomas and I have been dating since the summer before our senior year of college.
(read how we started dating here)

We graduated college in Dec. 2013, he proposed Dec. 2014, and we were long distance until we got married this past August.

Long distance ain't easy y'all!  It's hard work.  Seriously, hard.

Eat, Drink & Be "Merry" y'all.     --Xo

  3. Hi Mary! I just found your blog and stalked all your clogging posts. I clogged for years and attended way too many national championships and Maggie Valley. I also had several friends dance with BMC. I never knew Mars Hill was one out of two colleges with a clogging team. I guess I thought it was more common :) I look forward to following along about your experiences teaching!

  23. Hi there Mary! Sending a warm wave "hi!" from Arkansas! I had to comment here and introduce myself because I can relate to your long distance story. I, too, have been learning to work with a long distance relationship with my boyfriend of almost 4 years, Wade, since he got his first job this past May. Since May we have been working on figuring out how to work with the long distance situation and it has been tough at times! We will have to remain long distance until at least next May/June since he has 1 year lease on his apartment and then we will have to reevaluate exactly where we'd like to start our lives together (hopefully!) by that time next year.

Anyways, just know that you're not alone and I'm here if you ever need someone to chat with! I enjoy browsing through your blog! I'm a healthy living and food blogger over at Enticing Healthy Eating if you ever feel like looking up a healthy, tasty recipe sometime. :) Hope to get to know you better as I read more of your articles!

    1. Kaylin, I love hearing from people that are in long distance relationships; it has made my experience easier knowing I'm not alone. I have to commend you, FOUR years--that's amazing. I know how you feel that it's hard but so totally worth it. I'm hoping ours won't be too much longer, but neither of us know exactly when we can live near each other again. That's one of the hardest parts for me.

Thank you SO much for stopping by. Knowing I'm not alone and that others out there are there for me and going throug the same thing is so touching. I'm so glad you stopped by to introduce yourself.

I'll be checking out your blog now..food is my second love & learning to transform that into healthy living is something that I'm working on. I can't wait to get to you know more as well. Xo
