Eat Drink & Be Mary: October 2016

10.17.2016

C U R R E N T L Y :

Currently I'm..

Drinking: All the pumpkin spice lattes.  They're just so dang good.  Also super yummy is Dunkin's salted caramel latte.

Eating: My mom and I went to the Valle Country Fair and the Woolly Worm Festival this past weekend and we ate A L L the food.  How anyone can resist fair food is beyond me.  Bloomin' Onion.  Chicken on a stick.  A huge donut.  AND the best, best soft pretzel.

Wearing: All the boots.  Seriously got these two pairs for less than $40 total -- here.  Also, Thomas got me the cutest boots for my birthday from Maurices {also, it should be noted I am slowly falling back in love with everything Marucies sells} here is one of the pairs (below), the other is sold out...womp womp.

Reading: Fifteen Minutes by Karen Kingsbury

Feeling: all the feels.  I just had such a fun weekend at home with my parents.  We're officially a quarter of the way through the school year.  T and I have plans to go to another fair before the month is over.  AND I get to see both of my college roommates before the month is over.  Happy, happy happy.

Buying: This iPad mini case (rose gold perfection y'all), this morphe eyeshadow palette, and SO SO many Christmas gifts -- yes, already.

Listening To: Road Less Traveled by Lauren Alaina

Excited About: Youtube.  Why has it taken me so long to get on this train?  I am obsessed with watching video or two before going to bed.  I mainly watch makeup videos for products I'm thinking of buying, or tricks/hacks, or hauls.  My absolute faves currently are Natalie @ Hashtag Fab Life (she has a blog too) and Jessica @ JAMBeauty89.

leave who your favorites are/who I should start watching in the comments below.

Pinning: confetti pumpkins // DIY diaper rose bouqet (can you tell I'm in the stage of life where all my friends are starting to have babies) // the cutest cozy slipper DIY gift idea

Thankful For: Another day at a job that I'm happy to go to.  (such an improvement from last year, thank you Jesus.)

And that's it folks.  My Monday consists of an 11 hour work day.  Let's hope our coffee is strong and this day flys by.  Who else is watching Dancing with the Starts tonight?  xox

Fall Home Tour

Happy Wednesday y'all.  This past weekend my parents and littlest brother came up to visit for my birthday, and it was so much fun.  As you may have seen on snapchat and instagram we had lots of good food, and I stayed fully committed to my fall wardrobe -- even though it's still in the 70s here.  But I'm back after a good fun filled weekend, I've recouperated and I'm ready to share our fall home tour.

This home tour is only a small portion because it's only the part I've decorated for fall.  I've decorated our living room and dining room.  Stay tuned for the front door decor I ordered of jane and painted last night.  It'll be up on snap (mary_timmerman) after I get off work.  Pretty darn thrilled what $14 and a little bit of paint got me.

So for this home tour: 1. it's basically like Target threw up in my house and I'm not hating it 2. I'll put links to the items if you're curious at the bottom of this post.

Anyways enough words, I'll let the pictures do the talking from here on out...

LIVING ROOM:

these pumpkins are from walmart and target last year.  I'm thinking of adding a decal to the big white pumpkin -- any suggestions?

DINING ROOM:

ITEM LINKS //

living room --
burlap pumpkins, small orange pumpkins, white ceramic squirrel, blue and orange+black banner, "thankful for" picture holder | Target Dollar Spot
"thankful" light | Target (last year)
white pumpkins | cheap pumpkins from walmart, painted over with white chalky paint (really makes them look a lot nicer)
window | thrifted and used in our wedding
gold vase | Walmart
metal container (on the ground) | Target (last year)
purple and red plants | Hobby Lobby
basket | Target DS

dining room --
"grateful" placemats, napkins | Target Dollar Spot
monogram placemats | Target Dollar Spot + I created the monograms and ironed them on
Plant -- Hobby Lobby
Leaf Tray -- TJ Maxx
wire pumpkin -- walmart (last year)

Confession: I have had my house decorated for fall for a solid 3-4 weeks now.  I just can't help myself.  Not to mention, that gives me enough time to enjoy it before putting up Christmas decorations -- which you know will be out early as well.

Have you decorated for fall yet?  Which is your favorite season to decorate from?  Should I add a decal to my white pumpkin?

Oh Hey, Friday!

It's officially my birthday.  25.  Yikes.  That sounds so grown up (am I really grown up though?).  Speaking of my birthday, did you catch my wish list that was up earlier this week?
More birthday related news, my family is here for the weekend.  Living four hours away from family is for the birds, but it makes it that much more exciting to visit them.  Cheers to a weekend filled with family and birthday celebrations.
Now for five random happenings I've been dying to share with y'all for Oh Hey, Friday and Five on Friday.

one // pumpkin spice & everything nice
Because who isn't totally obsessed with everything pumpkin this time of year?  Yes please!  I'll gladly take this travel mug off your hands Lisa.  Not to mention she has 25% off her shop right now with the code 25thanks.

two // These boots were made for walking.
And by "these boots" I'm referring to the FOUR pairs I've bought lately.  Correction five pairs, yes five in the last week.  And they were all on fantastic sale.  These are the kind of things that excited me y'all. #adulting

Maurices has buy one get one 50% off.

JustFab has 2 for $39.95 or your first pair for $9.99 if you sign up for their VIP membership.  Which you can cancel at anytime, OR (even better) get shoes for only $39.95 instead of $100+.  I mean how can you go wrong with that.  Plus, if you sign up and get your first pair for $9.99, I get points to fuel my boots addiction.  Win-win really.  So help a girl out y'all.

Shoe Dazzle basically has the same deals, but different selection of boots.  I ordered from both, so I'll definitely share my thoughts on each site after I've received the boots.  But I've only heard good things from both websites and they each have free returns and exchanges..so winning.

and yes, I got both boots above for $39.95 total (free shipping) // get yours here

three // this mexican flatbread.
Madison over at Joyfully Mad makes the most bomb recipes, and I can only imagine how fantastic this one will taste.

This Mexican style flatbread is super easy and packed with delicious flavors!

four // stripe swing tee
Happy birthday to me,  I bought this tee from Maurices and I can't wait for it to come in the mail.

five // Halloween Candy
What's your favorite halloween candy?  I cannot stop eating the little caramel squares, and don't even get me started on the pumpkin candy corn.  YUM!

Happy weekending loves.  May we all get all the donuts we can handle (birthday celebrations, duh).  And as always keep up on snapchat -- mary_timmerman

Cheers to 25 Years

Isn't it crazy how when we were teenagers we felt like 20 was so old, that you'd have everything figured out, and you'd totally be an adult by then.  Somedays I feel like I've got it all figured out, and then of course somedays I'm totally lost.

Well as of Friday I'll be halfway through my 20s and lets just say being an adult isn't always as fun as my thirteen year old self imagined.  Cheers to 25 years, y'all.

And with every birthday comes a wish list.  I've really struggled with what I want for my birthday this year, mainly because I really want a new front door for our house and a dining room table.  #adulting  But alast I've come up with a couple things.

Green Kimono c/o Romwe
Distressed Jeans | TJ Maxx
Sandals | Target (sold out)
Burgandy Criss Cross tee | Shein

Basically anything that is going to work in my fall wardrobe.  Like the kimono above.

Or more boots to add to my collection: like  these onesthesethese or these, please.

Cold Shoulder Knitted Top, or this one.

"Coffee is my love language" mug.

"Sundays are for Jesus & football" tee.

This water bottle.

And now due to the hurricane that is approaching the east coast, I have the rest of the week off of school.  So I'm off to clean our house (before my parents show up for the weekend), be lazy and do a little online shopping.  Which of the things about should I purchase first?

Chocolate Chip Truffles

Happy October friends.  And hey, it's my birthday week!  So naturally I'm celebrating with baking all the goodies.  Not that I enjoyed any of these chocolate chip truffles (chocolate ain't my thangg, remember?).  But simply being in the kitchen, baking is therapuetic enough.

Have I mentioned all the baking that comes along with fall?  Seriously my favorite!  Stay tuned for some fall inspired recipes I have up my sleeve.

And in the mean time, today I'm sharing these chocolate chip truffles that are incredibly easy to take to parties and get togethers that will be popping up light crazy the closer we get to the holidays.  And whenever I take these mini, bite-size truffles anywhere they always disappear in the blink of an eye.

Ingredients --

for Filling:
Chocolate Chip Flavored Oreos
Cream Cheese, 8oz package, softened

Chocolate Coating:
1 cup of chocolate chips
1 tsp (give or take) vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla
*or use the candiquik melting chocolate (I've used this several times and it's tasty and easy).*

Instructions --

1. Crush oreos completely (I prefer a food processor because it's easier ;) )
2. Add in softened cream cheese, and mix well.
3. Roll mixture into balls and place onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.
4. Freeze mixture for 30 minutes, or chill in the refridgerator for 1 hour.
5. Put ingrdients for chocolate coating into a microwave safe bowl, and melt in 30 second increments.  Stir occasionally.
6. Dip truffles into the chocolate and let harden on the wax paper.  enjoy!

That's it y'all.  I hope your coffee is strong and your day is short.  We've got this y'all, show Monday who is boss.  Not to mention, throw this recipe together and in an hour you can indulge after a long day with a delicious treat.  Enjoy!
What is your favorite party treat?
