I've mentioned before that I was raised with three boys. Yep, I'm the only girl among the boy madness that is my family. My cousin was the oldest of the four of us, and honestly it almost feels weird calling him my cousin because he is more like a brother. I mean he was raised with us, and was just as protective as I imagine any other older brother would be.

F I V E on F R I D A Y

Y'all, it's been incredibly too too long since I last did a little five on Friday on this here blog.  But alas I'm back, and I'm excited to share my five with y'all.  I honestly never feel like these posts need much of an intro, I mean five random things I'm loving this Friday.  The end.

Oh, and of course THANK GOD it's Friday!  The last Friday of the school year I might add.

ONE | Target has a buy one get one 50% off sale right now on there sandals.  And I definitely caved and got two of the cutest sandals (both in nude-ish colors). Such a good deal ya'll...two sandals for $27.

TWO | The Home Tee
It's no secret I am a huge fan of The Home T.  See this post and this post.  Told ya I was obsessed.  And I'm super excited to be sharing part of their new line next week.  Stay tuned, but here's a little sneak peek.

THREE | Summertime Sangria
Summer is around the corner, and I have visions of sangria on the porch stuck in my head.  This recipe is so delicious, refreshing and can easily be tweaked to make for adults or kid-friendly.  I'm telling you, you need to try it.

FOUR | See Me.
I am loving my Nook y'all.  B E S T decision I've made in a while.  Right now I'm reading See Me by Nicholas Sparks (don't spoil it for me) but it is SO good, intense and addicting.  Less than 100 pages to go, brb going to go read now.

FIVE | Did I mention I'm exhausted?

Happy Weekending y'all.  Keep up on snapchat (mary_timmerman).  What are your weekend plans?

I Did NOT Wake Up Like This

The last Monday of the school year.  Can I get an AMEN?  Y'all, I can quite honestly hardly believe that I've made it this far.  An entire year in the sixth grade.  My first year of teaching practically finished.  I have no words y'all.

One thing I'm not gonna miss come 3:22 next Thursday?  Waking up at 6:40, okay okay more like 7:00 after all my snoozes.  Because y'all, there is no question -- I did NOT wake up like this.

Hello sleeping in, soaking in the sun and recooperating s u m m me r t i m e before, what I can only assume, will be another whirlwind, crazy year.

One trend I am absolutely head over heels obsessed with right now?  Distressed jeans.  I found this pair at TJ Maxx for $17 #winning and have scored several other pairs from TJ Maxx too.  I've linked where the original pair is from below if you're interested.

Anyone else over the moon about Summer being around the corner?  What trend are you loving this Spring?  Anyone else watching The Bachelorette tonight?

May Must Haves

Another month, another round up of must haves.  Since last round up, I've bought three of the five items.  And since these items really don't need a huge introduction...

May Must Haves.

{linked below clockwise}

one | corkcicle
want. want. want.

two | "what would Olivia Pope do?"
Scandal fanatic right here.  And we're only on season 3 so NO SPOILERS.

three | anniversary date canvas
I've started daydreaming ideas for decorating our bedroom.  This is at the top of my list. {less expensive version here}

four | watermelon planner stickers

five | L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Mist
I have loved this self-tanning mist the past couple weeks.  Cheap, significant results and I'm not an orange oompa-loompa.

also, currently searching for a cute summer worth lipstick/gloss that is not crazy expensive.  suggestions?

What are your must haves for May?  Any lipsticks/gloss I should try out?  Do you have a corkcicle?  Do you like it?

Timmerman Party of 2: The Shoe Game

I had SO SO much fun planning our wedding during the 8 months we were engaged.  This might be obvious due to the posts I've spent recapping our big day for y'all.

I spent hours on hours on pinterest planning and discussing with my bridesmaids.  Colors.  Cake or dessert bar?  Hair styles.  Jewelry.  The list goes on.  One thing I came across was the shoe game, but I was sure if it was too corny or not.

Then I spoke to our [first] DJ about it and he highly suggested doing it, and y'all it was a G R E A T decision.  I highly suggest doing the shoe game at your reception.  It was hilarious to us, AND our guests.

I listed the questions we chose to use at the bottom of this post, but if you search the shoe game on pinterest (or Google I'm sure) you'll come across several suggestions.  I also briefly mentioned the rules if you aren't familiar with the game.

if we got the question right we kissed, and if we got it wrong all the couples in the audience kissed

Shoe Game Questions we used:

1. Who is older?
2. Who has more siblings?
3. When you first met, who made the first move?
4. Who is the better driver?
5. Who has been in more car accidents?
6. Who studied the hardest in school?
7. Who got better grades in school?
9. Who is more creative?
10. Who is better at keeping surprises?
11. Who will be doing the cooking?
12. Who is more adventurous?
13. Who is more likely to get injured?
14. Who is more likely to get sunburned?
15. Who is more likely to be running late?
16. Who is the better dresser?
17. Who is better looking?
18. Who said I love you first?
24. Who will be in control of the remote?
25. Who will be most likely to wake up grumpy?
26. Who is more likely to get lost?
27. Who is more likely to ask for directions?
28. Who is messier?
30. Right now, who do you love more than anyone in the world

Rules:

1. The bride and groom each hold one of the bride's shoe and one of the groom's shoe, and sit back to back.
2. The DJ (in our case) read the questions and we had to raise up the shoe that belonged to the person in our answer.  for example: who said I love you first? thomas, so we'd raise up HIS shoe
3. If we agreed on our answer we kissed, if we disagreed people in the auidence kissed.

Seriously easy and F U N.

Timmerman Party of 2: Garter/Bouquet Toss

Another Wedding Wednesday post, and I'm sharing another glimpse into our reception.  Our bouquet and garter toss were fun and a little awkward (the garter toss, anyone else?).  I love looking back on these pictures and seeing all the lovely facial expressions I was giving off that day.

Bouquet Toss Song: Bang Bang
Garter Toss Song: I'm Still a Guy

And now for the pictures...

firefighter garter | Creative Garters

BOUQUET TOSS:

love this!

GARTER TOSS:

A couple things, it was awkward and I laughed the entire time.  So yeah, awkward.

...and it got caught on the lights

Thomas' college roommate caught the garter and was getting married a little more than a month later.  My cousin caught the bouquet and she is now getting married in May.  So there's that...if you have been wanting someone to pop the question you apparently needed to be at our wedding. ;)

Sometimes it still hits me that wow, we're married.  It still feels like a dream.  Looking back on our wedding day, it's hard to believe this is my life.  That this is reality.  I'm a lucky lucky girl, y'all.

Picnic Date: Chicken Salad for Two

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and The Coca-Cola Company. All opinions are mine alone. #BestSummerMemories #CollectiveBias

There are so many reasons I'm looking forward to the weather warming up. For one, summer break and I mean that pretty much explains itself. The second? Picnics. I LOVE going on picnics, especially now that I can explore my new town for the perfect spots.

But what I won't have to search for is the perfect recipe for a picnic sandwich. My mother-in-laws Chicken Salad.

Before we got married, for close to two years Thomas and I were in a long distance relationship.  And dates were few and far between.  Now that we're under one roof, and the chaos of the school year is coming to an end I'm excited to start planning more adventurous dates for us.  First up, backyard picnics.

My mother-in-law has some of the BEST southern recipes, and she learned most of them from her mother-in-law.  This chicken salad recipe is so so yummy, and while we usually dig in with crackers I knew it'd be the perfect picnic food slapped on some croissants.  And paired with some cute dinnerware and the new Coca-Cola™ (with song lyrics on them!)...I mean come on y'all.  Picnic perfection.

My Mother-in-Laws Chicken Salad

Ingredients:
2 Chicken Breast
Mayonaise
Dried Cranberries
Chopped Pecans
Croissants

Instructions:
1. Boil chicken breasts (or as we did this time, Thomas popped them in the crock pot for a couple hours while I was at work).
2. Shred chicken in using a food processor (work smart not hard...right?)
3. In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, mayonnaise (about a cup), dried cranberries and chopped pecans.
4. Serve on croissants or enjoy with crackers.

And no picnic is complete with out a nice, refreshing Coca-Cola.  Coca-Cola is always keeping me on my toes with what they're going to put on their packaging next.  Since I was planning a picnic day date, I loved being able to pick out lyrics that fit the occasion.  I can already imagine all the occasions it'll be fun to give these Coca-Colas for: graduation, memorial day, anniversaries, the options are endless.

I'm looking forward to creating many more memories with my new husband this summer, and you can bet your bottom dollar we'll be making them Coca-Colas in hand (of course, after debating which song lyrics best fits the moment).  Pick yours up at CVS and join in on all the fun.

To get your Coca-Cola Share a Song download the Shazam app on your iphone, android or other devices.  AND check out the Best Summer Ever Deals at your local CVS. Buy 2 20oz bottles of Coca-Cola products for $3

Hello Summer day dates!  Now to find the perfect picnic spot...

What memories do you plan on making this Summer?  Which Share a Coke Share a Song do you look forward to using/giving?  What is your favorite picnic meal?
