-------------------see my other Fall Must haves in this post-------------------

Is anyone else in shock that tomorrow is the first day of September? We are currently on week three of this school year.  The days are long, but the year is short.  Except, the days really are flying by this year.

I know I've been sharing a lot of Fall inspired outfits lately, butttttt in my defense it has been SO hot here lately I can't help but dream of the mountain weather I grew up with.  (Not to mention I did share this on Monday.)

Also, there's something about back to school (the chaos and stress that comes with?) season that makes me crave ALL the junk food.  So bring on the loose, stretchy clothing that comes with Fall. ;)

And in walks this Cowl Neck Sweater in all its flowy gloriness.  The light weight sweater is perfect for a warmer fall (aka: 70's perfection) here in South Carolina.  Not to mention I'll take all the distressed jeans and booties that this Fall season will bring.  You know, I am a Fall baby after all...

Happy Hump Day Sweets.  What is your favorite fall staple piece?  Anyone else excited for the loose, stretchy clothing that comes with the cooler months? ;)

Floral Kimono

I know I've been yapping on here a lot about how I've been dreaming of Fall weather and all the fashion that comes with it.  But the truth is these scolding hot temps are here to stay (for several more weeks).  So I might as well embrace it right?

floral kimono c/o ROMWE
mrs necklace | Showered With Design
tassel earings c/o Happiness Boutique
Black Romper | Rue21 (old)
sunglasses | Urban Outfitters (similar)
sandals | Target

not sure what happened here with the lighting on my face, but it shows off the kimono well...oh well...

This kimono is perfect for summer with the floral pattern and the fact that its sheer.  I love layering, and the light weight makes it possible during this hot weather.

There are two things that will sell me on a piece of clothing.  1. It's a great deal.  2. It's easy to wear and match.

This kimono is from and is under $12 (#1 - check).  I've ordered more than a handful of items from them (see here and here) and have loved them all.  My number one tip for this site?  Check the measurements they put for each item.

And as for number two, I love that you can wear this kimono for several different occasions.  I wore this outfit for our first wedding anniversary dinner to a local Japanese steakhouse, and it was perfect since the restaurant is usually on the warmer side due to them cooking table side.  And I already have plans to wear it over a maxi dress to work.  #2 - check.

So now that we've got that squared away, I'm off to start my third week of teaching this school year.  Y'all this year is flying by so far (ask me again, in November how I feel).  And tonight we are having an open house so I'll be there for 12 hours....send ALL. THE. CAFFEINE.

Happy Monday y'all.  Have any of y'all shopped at Romwe before?  What are your Summer closet staples?

A Gift Basket For the First Time Mom

Right now I'm in the "all my friends are getting engaged-married-have babies" stage of life.  And y'all I'm loving it.  It is so so fun to celebrate with your friends during these big changes.  Not to mention weddings are so much fun and nothing beats holding a newborn baby.
As I've gotten older I've realized one of my favorite ways to show love is through gifts.  And with several people (read: more than six) with a baby on the way, I'm preparing to shower them with love.
A while ago I wrote this post on how to create a gift basket for newly engaged friend.

One of my best friends recently announced she was pregnant (and I got to take their pictures), eek!  And while I can't wait for the little babe to get here, I've already started preparing to pamper my new mama friend and the baby with a gift basket.

Things I included in my "First Time Mama" Gift Basket:
{pick and choose items from this list to easily put together your own basket}

Box / Target

Mom Life Tee / LINDSxoPRESSES Etsy shop
The cuteness factor is like off the charts with this tee, not to mention it's loose fit (hello, post-baby bod) and super soft.
Also, Lindsay the brains behind the etsy shop was so kind to share a code BEMARY with y'all to get free shipping.  Y' not miss out on this.  Whether its for yourself or a friend, this shirt is something that belongs in your (or their) closet.

Navy Floral Covered Goods multi-use nursing cover
picture via The Covered Goods website

4-in-1 Nursing Cover / Covered Goods
Something for mom and baby, and seriously super chic.  I have heard moms rave about these all over the internet.  And it doesn't surprise me at all now that I've received one in the mail seeing as they're not only cute (coming in 8 different patterns) but they're also really useful.

And by useful I mean it can be used as a nursing cover (and I love you don't have to worry about whether she's making the decision to breastfeed or not because...).  It also transforms into a cover for the carseat.  Blocking out all those germs and wandering hands about to touch your baby in the middle of Walmart.  Then as your little babe continues to grow you can also use it to cover the grocery cart seat..y'all they've thought it all through.

Onesies / There are so many routes to go here, especially if you have a cricut.  My suggestions?
+something mom likes (ie: the "latte" onesie above or dance etc)
+something that includes the dad: whether its a nod to his profession, his favorite sports team or a "daddy's little buddy" onesie
+ practically anything from Carters (anyone else getting all the heart eyes looking at their tiny little clothes lately?)
Keep in mind a lot of babies don't fit into newborn clothes for long, if at all, and keep in mind about what size they'll be in for different seasons / holidays / etc.
Pacifers / cute and functional..enough said.
Coffee Mug / A fun little twist on the "I woke up like this" trend (see the version I own in this post), and so perfect for mom life.  I mean a little humor never hurt.
Other Ideas Depending on the Gender of the Baby:
Headbands: here here and here
This adorable (and on sale for less than $10) Romper
Personalized Baby Stats Bracelet (such a cute gift for after the baby is born)
Baby Booties / Moccasins

This "basket" is a celebration gift perfect for that new mama in your life.  Focusing on all the fun, cute stuff they are about to embrace along with mixing in (cute) practical items as well.
What would you add?  I have plenty more baskets to make and would love your suggestions!  What are your favorite products in this basket?  Do you love giving gift baskets?  I'd love to check out any posts you have regarding giving gifts.

Hello, Herringbone

Yesterday I shared my Fall Wardrobe Wishlist (and my full blown obsession with all things Fall), and today the obsession continues.  As much as I love the sunny weather of Summer (and the suntans that come with) and Summer vacation (le duh!), Fall truly has my heart.

Bring on the PSL, the booties, the half-top knot, and the vests.

Being from the mountains I am a sucker for a cute vest, and I can't wait to start wearing some vests this year.  All be it, it may be well into December before it'll be cold enough.  So when I spotted this vest on Hello Pink Boutique, I instantly knew I needed it this Fall.

Y'all so dang cute.

And I love wearing a vest over a dress.  Anyone else?

Herringbone Vest c/o Hello Pink Boutique, dress | Lundy's Boutique (old), peep toe booties | Rack Room, Triangular Statement Earrings c/o Happiness Boutique (use code eatdrink-andbemary for 10% off orders over $21), sunglasses | Urban Outfitters

Now I'm off to dream of those PSL because while the Fall temps. are far off, I'm sure Starbucks will be coming out with the world's best latte before we know it.

Now, what are your closet staples for Fall?  Are you a sucker for a vest?

Disclaimer: I was sent items in this post to review, but the opinions and words are mine.

DDT [Aug.23]

Welcome to a new week of Delicious Dish Tuesday, where we share our recipes and ask you to share YOUR awesome recipes with us!  Last week we had some delicious looking recipes shared, I love finding all these new recipes to add to my "to-do" list.  This past week my favorite recipe was shared by Jillian @ aBajillian Recipes.

Fall Wardrobe Wish List {all under $30}

all items below are from SHEIN, if you haven't shopped their site before..well, you are just plain missing out.

I'm currently writing this at 11:30pm on Sunday night.  I've finished my lesson plans for the week (with a little less anxiety than they brought me last year), and I'm ready to go full force into our second week of school.

As I mentioned a couple weeks ago, the warm, Summer weather isn't going anywhere fast.  As in I'll still be melting away here in SC where it's a couple degrees shy of h-e-double hockey sticks ;) for at least a month and half -- possibly two.  BUT now that I'm spending my days with a bunch of sixth graders, back to school in full swing I am constantly dreaming of those cooler fall temps.

Have I ever mentioned that where I live has THE BEST fall weather ever.  Maybe I'm a little biased, but before I moved to SC there's only a solid two weeks of fall before it turns to frigid winter weather (seriously y'all, mid 50's in October and it's even snowed on Halloween before).  So now that I'm blessed with 70 degree temps with the occasional breeze, I don't think I could ever leave.

And to prove my obsession for the weather that accompanies fall (not to mention the PSL and everything else pumpkin flavored), I honestly think I could go for a month of Summer (maybe two, but nothing over 92 degrees) and a month of Winter and the remaining 10 months with solid, beautiful, warm and breezy Fall weather.

And with my fall obsession of course comes with dreams filled with Fall wardrobe staples.  Forget sugar plum fairies, my dreams are of oversized sweaters, olive, burgandy, stripes and lots and lots of stretchy, forgiving leggings.  Oh, and of course some distressed jeans, booties, and a little boho, too.

Y'all these pieces were all under $30 (well except this one, but I still had to throw it in the mix).  You know I love a good deal so naturally I had to share.  What is your favorite item on my list?  Which should I buy first (because lets be honest more than one of these are making it in my shopping cart)?  What is your fall wardrobe staples?

C U R R E N T L Y : :

Y'all I'm not going to lie, I wasn't exactly going back to school this week.  I mean really who wants Summer vacation to ever end?  But the students I have in my class this year are seriously the sweetest.  They are already so kind, compassionate, hard working and have stolen my heart.

It's been a while since we've caught up so I'm here for a little "what I'm Currently up to" action.  Happy Friday loves. TGIF!

Drinking: All the caffeine.  Thank you back to school season.

Eating: I'm not just drinking all the coffee I can get my hands on, but I'm put coffee in my cupcakes as well.

Wearing: Y'all this chiffon blouse is all sorts of wonderful.  It is light weight (perfect for these scorching hot temps here in SC), and super cute for the workplace.  In fact, this is the outfit I wore for the first day of school and got SO SO many compliments on it.

Reading: My reading frenzy has been on hold a little bit as I adjust to my new routine, however, I'm in the middle of Oceans Apart by Karen Kingsbury and LOVE LOVE it.

Green Chiffon Blouse | SHEIN   //    Tassel Earrings | Happiness Boutique (10% off orders over 19 euros/about $22 with code eatdrink-andbemary)
Clutch | Gift (similar, currently on sale for $15)   //    Sunglasses | $7 on (a while ago)
Nude Heels | Charlotte Russe (old)   //   Eyelet Pencil Skirt | Old Navy (old, but I got it on sale for $10!!)

Listening To: Sleep Without You by Brett Young

Loving: The deal that I got on this shirt.  Y'all.  It's less than $15 and great quality.  I got a small, and it fits perfectly without being too form fitting.  If you haven't checked out SHEIN before, I highly suggest it.

Pinning: "Nap = Happy Hour" Shirt | Grilled Zuccini | Fall Printable Stickers | Baked Egg Stuffed Sweet Potatoes

Excited About: my best friend (that got married in this post) is coming to visit this weekend!

Buying: Green Puff Chiffon Top (picture in this post) | August Monthly View planner stickers | FRIENDS Graphic Tee

What are you currently up to?  Have you ever heard of SHEIN?  Where is your favorite place to online shop?
