In high school I found the dress code to be quite annoying. Why, just why? But now I've entered the "real" world..you know where I've been forced to hold a job & adult (adult; v. how you must do life from now on ; see also, do I really have to). And it turns out these dress codes follow you around no matter where you go or how "adult" you are. So it's time I learn to deal with these dress codes, and share my tips for what to wear to a bridal shower.
THEMED. Is there a theme to your bridal shower? If so, see if you can coordinate with the theme.

WHITE. It is a celebration of you the bride-to-be. While wearing white isn't a must, definitely consider it.
WHO'S INVITED? Consider who's invited. Will your Grandma be there? Make sure you'll be wearing something you'll be comfortable wearing in front of her, and all other attendants.
[Ex. Covered in the front to avoid cleavage - as if I have any - but party in the back with the open back.]
WEATHER. Whether your shower is in the dead of Summer or during one of the chilly, Winter months, you will be miserable if you aren't dressed for the season. Not to mention a sundress in December just doesn't sound right.
PICTURES. Keep in mind there will be a lot of taking pictures, and pictures being taken of you. Wear something you feel comfortable, pretty, comfortable in.
Basically, what I'm saying is this dress is what you should be wearing to a bridal shower. I'm all about royal blue lately, and this dress certainly satisfies that obsession. Not to mention the buttons and open back. Seriously, the dress is the perfect amount of modest, flirty, floral (totally in right now) and Spring-y.
Now that I think about it, this "all day soiree" dress would be perfect for a Summer BBQ or family picnic as well. Why limit yourself to only bridal showers? Although you can't blame me for having all-things-wedding on my mind..it is wedding season after all.
