Eat Drink & Be Mary: DIY Bridesmaid Boxes

DIY Bridesmaid Boxes

I know I confessed Friday that Wednesdays are becoming my favorite posts -- thanks to Wedding Wednesday -- but this week I'm extra thrilled because today is the first day of our Spring Break.  It should've started Monday (thanks a lot snow days) but 5 days work free?...I'll take it.

This week's edition?  Asking your bridesmaids with a DIY Bridesmaid Box.

My bridesmaids have already done so much to help, and since they all had a heads up to when I was getting engaged they were on the ball from day one.  I am so, so thankful for the girls that will be standing by my side in August.  So when asking them I wanted to do a little something extra...in walks my version of a DIY bridesmaid box...

For the box I tried to stick with our wedding colors coral & champagne and things I thought my bridesmaids would use.  And just went from there, below are my suggestions, however there are so many things that would be fantastic in a bridesmaid box.

What you'll need:
Michaels: wooden crates || tissue paper, to fill up the crate some|| wedding colored paper crinkle || mason jar tags

**tip you can almost always find a 40-50% coupon for Michaels on their website

Target: EOS chapstick and/or lotion || gold glitter mini clothespins (similar) || gold glitter washi tape (similar) || Nail Polish (wedding color: champagne)

Target $1 Hot Spot:  "notes" notepad || Target $1 spot || mini sticky note (flags) || pens and/or pencils (that matched wedding colors)

Hardware/Paint Store: (lowes)
Paint Chips with wedding colors to give bridesmaids a clearer vision of the shade of color you're invisioning.

Other: (not pictured; maybe next week?)
"Will you be my bridesmaid?" card printable || Something Pretty

"Will you be my MOH?" card printable || Chicfetti

meaningful card written to each girl || personal stationary

...next week I'm sharing how I asked my girls to be my bridesmaids with these boxes + another DIY.

What else would you add to a bridesmaid box?  How did you ask your girls?

  1. Ah! They look fabulous! And I guess we were thinking along the same lines for this week because I just posted my blog post yesterday about how I put together my own bridesmaid boxes to ask them to join me on my wedding day. :) Have a great Spring break!

  9. LOVE these boxes. I don't plan on having a big wedding, which means a courthouse wedding, so I won't have a bridal party but I LOVE these boxes. Yours turned out amazing!

  10. These are so cute!! I just gave my girls a cute card from Etsy because I didn't have much time to craft anything and wanted to ask them already. So.. I will definitely step my game up for their gifts for the wedding :)

  17. These are so cute! All I did was send them all a cute card and asked them that way (they all live in different states except for my sister, so I would have had to ship anything. It was easier for me, but I wish I could have done these. So freaking awesome!

  18. What a cute idea! I did something similar! Nail polish, EOS lip balm, cards with wedding info, tissues, mini wine bottles and paint swatches!

  19. Sounds cute. I love the addition of wine; a wedding I'm in had the little wine bottles and of course they were a hit!

  20. I was lucky enough to give them all in person, which worked out since I don't think these would've been ideal for shipping. But being in the wedding is the most important part no matter how they're asked.

  21. Aw thanks Lisa! Seems like a lot of work though.

  22. I think it's the best way to include things they'll like & use, your wedding colors & personalized touches. But there are SO many ways to ask..I'm sure you'll find the perfect way to ask.

  23. Do you have a post in it? I'd love to check it out!

  24. The hardest part was waiting for the hanger I gave them with the boxes to arrive so I could ask them. I almost buckled and gave in several times!

  25. The paint chips were the best way I could think of to describe my vision for the wedding colors. I think it turned out well since there are so many shades of coral.

  26. Exactly, Rachel! It was the best way I could share my vision of the colors since there are so many shades.

  27. Exactly Lisa. Band I love the way it ended up working.

  28. Seriously, such a great idea. ;) I'll definitely have to check out that post. I love how we're both going through this together!
