Eat Drink & Be Mary: Bridal Shower | Pink & Gold

Bridal Shower | Pink & Gold

Even though I talk a lot about my own wedding here on this blog, one of my best friends (and college roommates) is getting married this year too.  In fact, she'll be getting married just shy of two months after me.  Wedding planning with your best friend is so much fun, and such a unique experience...I recommend you all doing it ;).
Anyways, in my friends wedding I am the Maid of Honor and one of my duties (besides prevent cold feet & reassuring her how beautiful she'll look on her wedding day) is to plan her bridal shower.
Y'all!  I never expected planning a bridal shower to be this much fun.  My bride started with two initial requests: pink & gold and mimosas.  So I've taken those ideas and ran.  Here's my inspiration board so far...

I don't want to give it all away, but trust me I've got some good plans in the making.  Now it's your turn, have you ever thrown a bridal shower?  What tips do you have for me?  What is your favorite brunch recipe?

  1. Ooh, I used those powdered donuts with the ring printables attached on them as well! It worked out great, everybody thought they were super cute. It was for our engagement party. :)

  2. Love! I threw my best friends Bridal Shower and we did it a local tea house; we had raspberry champagne -- that I wish I remembered how to make! I enclosed a recipe card (etsy all the way) for their favorite recipe with the invitation to bring with them to the shower and the bridesmaids got her a gorgeous monogrammed wooden recipe box to collect them in.

  5. Love this! Can we spend a moment on how cute the mini donut engagement rings are? I second Shelby's suggestion of recipe cards for everyone to fill out. I had them at my bridal shower and absolutely loved them!

  8. Hey Mary!! Love your inspiration board. I just threw my friends a "Stock the Bar" couple shower and the colors were pink and gold too. I talked about it here - http://lakeshorerunner.com/2015/04/07/tried-it-tuesday-pinterest-recipes-crafts-stock-the-bar-couples-shower/

Hope it gives you some more inspiration!

  14. I am right in the thick of it now, helping to plan my besties shower! I love your ideas! My favorite item that we're doing is re-purposing items for decor- such as wine bottles, ribbon, picture frames, etc.

  17. I'm definitely trying to keep the re-purposing idea in mind. It just makes it that much more fun so she can get more use out of it! Great idea Jamie. I hope y'all are having fun planning.
