Save The Date Ideas

It's Wedding Wednesday y'all.  I'm finally joining in on the Wedding Wednesday train + can't wait to share more of the wedding planning process with y'all.  Eek!

To be honest I still can't believe that we are engaged and our planning is in five months.  FIVE months people!  I've been dreaming of this for as long as I can remember.

If there's one thing I know it was that I was born to marry this good lookin' red head of mine, and that God created him especially for me.

Now on to what you're all here for...save the date ideas.

Coffee Mugs are the perfect way to incorporate your couple personality into your pictures, not to mention it was totally fitting for a winter engagement session.

I actually made these mugs myself to save money and will be sharing how you can make your own mugs (for any occasion) next week.  Stay tuned...

Use a Save-the-Date banner to display your big date is a super cute way.  I love how many ways picutures can be style with these banners.

Chalkboards are in right now, and there are so many ways you can incorporate your date with them...with a quote or just putting it straight out there.  Trendy and cute for sure.

I took engagement pictures for my best friend (and one of my bridesmaids), and created this cute "save the date" picture with a framed chalkboard and chalkboard markers for them.  so easy.

In our engagement session, we used our photographer's "save the date" chalkboard sign and I filled in our date with plain old chalk.  We didn't end up using these, but I am crazy about these pictures.

I'm all about wooden signs lately, and they go perfect with a rustic them.  There are so many ways you can utilize a wooden sign for your save-the-dates, and it's guaranteed your friends and family will love them.

...or just have "save the date" on your postcard/letters that you send out.  My suggestion?  check out MineLolly for reasonable prices.  TOMORROW I'm sharing our Save-the-Dates that we got through Anna's etsy shop.

  1. Aw these are so cute! I think my favorite is the one with you holding the chalkboard sign as you two are looking in each other's eyes. So happy for you!

  3. Such cute ideas. We got engaged and the stress of thinking of what I wanted took it's toll on me that we got married 7 months after he popped the questions, leaving no time for Save the Dates. But these are such adorable ways of sharing your upcoming date with friends and family.

  5. Yaayy thanks so much for jumping on the WW bangwagon with us!! I can't wait to follow along with your planning :) I love that mug idea. We just your normal, run-of-the-mill engagement photo shoot and had magnets made with one of the photos for our Save the Dates.

  6. These are so dang cute! I love your coffee mugs...it's like you're giving a hot cocoa toast in the middle of winter, and it's adorable! I definitely love your theory of having both faces showing, ring showing, both loving the pic...those are all completely essential. We're doing our pictures soon-ish (and by soon-ish I mean summer), so I'll be studying your post for tips beforehand!

  7. I really fell in love with the idea of the mugs for our winter engagement session, and had a blast creating them. But ultimately none of those pictures were "save the date" worthy, with both of our faces showing. And the picture we ended up using was just perfect. I can't wait to see yours!! eek!

  10. Thanks Stephanie. :) By the time we get married we'll have been engaged 8 months, but I've been planning this wedding since I can remember. Actual details and colors didn't come into play until after we were engaged, but I'm totally ready to take on this wedding planning madness. I'm glad you enjoyed the ideas.
