Eat Drink & Be Mary: F I V E things.

3.27.2015

F I V E things.

Oh Friday, I wish I could just give you a hug.  Depending on when you're reading this I have survived another week of 5 year olds, and am well on my way to seeing my college roommate and Thomas.  I always love weekends where I get to see T and my best friends...not to mention the boys can entertain themselves while we go do girly things (shopping for bridesmaid jewelry, yes please).  It's a win/win for all really.  And now 5 things before we dive headfirst into our weekends...

ONE|| home office
For some reason the beginning of Spring has me planning out our home decor (our home of which I've never seen the inside.  yikes!  But I'm told there are 2 1/2 rooms, and I plan on one being my "office" aka, place to blog & set up photo space.  And of course, I've turned to Pinterest for help...

TWO|| wedding update
This week I shared two wedding related posts.  These are seriously my favorite posts to write as of lately....sorry I'm not sorry?  Our engagement pictures in full force are finally up, and don't say I didn't warn you that there would be a lot of pictures. ;)  And my wedding to-do checklist went up yesterday -- what I'm accomplished the last four months and what's in store for April.  August will be here before we know it y'all.

Would this be inappropriate as a RSVP card?! Just kidding, but it's hilarious!

THREE|| Easter bunny bait
We all know I adore Jillian over at A BaJillian Recipes, but she's really outdone herself this time.  Easter bunny bait?  Seriously, I need some of this in my life.  And it looks super fun to make too.

FOUR|| golden oreo truffles
I have been wanting to try out an oreo truffle with a golden oreo for a very long time now, and these Golden Oreo Easter Egg Truffles look like they'd be amazing.  Perfect timing with Easter right around the corner.
Golden Oreo Easter Egg Truffles are easy to make and so yummy. They are pretty cute too! @yourhomebasedmom

FIVE|| my hero
My fianc√© passed the firefighting section of his training, and is well on his way to becoming a firefighter.  I could not be more proud of him.  Please keep him in your prayers as he begins the EMT section; he's worried but I know he'll kick butt.  And speaking of my firefighter...this makes my heart straight up melt into a puddle.  I canNOT wait for little babies dressed in tutus & supporting their daddy.

  1. Very best of luck to your fiance on his continuing firefighter training! I know it might be hard sometimes to think of him possibly getting into dangerous situations as a firefighter but that man has a heart of gold to want to do that type of job. You're "dibbed" on a great one. ;) So you're actually getting a house together?! I've been thinking about this dilemma with my own fiance lately. We are moving in together finally, as well, this June and will both be moving to a whole new city....I can see the benefits of renting an apartment and just getting a house. House mortgages can be cheaper and worth it with the benefits you get of your own space. I want a YARD! Becoming an adult and making adult decisions can be rough sometimes. I'm still on the fence about it. Right now we are looking at apartments but I don't want to regret getting into a contract for an apartment...

  4. Ha! That ecard is great! I wanted to set the people on fire who RSVP'd and didn't show up...I seriously considered showing up on their doorstep with all the food and unlimited alcohol that we paid for for them!

  6. I love your wedding posts because I couldn't imagine a short engagement. Ours was REALLY long, but it all works out somehow. We actually had guests who RSVPed but then didn't show up. And we had a lot of guests who booked rooms from our block, but then decided to just drive back that night. Things always happen!

  10. 1. Those tutus!! 2. Those Truffles! 3. That Ecard is Spot. On. We are having enough of a hard time keeping it at capacity with our big Italian families, so I feel like if people show up who either weren't invited or didn't RSVP they are destined for stink eye.

  11. You'd be surprised how many people don't RSVP to weddings. It is SO RUDE! No manners if you ask me.

  12. Yay for passing! That's awesome news! And lol at the RSVP ecard, I will never understand why it's so hard to check yes or no and send back a card in a pre-addressed and pre-stamped envelope :-P

    Happy Friday :)

  23. Thanks Kristyn! It's short, but with the long distance I'm ready to get that over with and not have to deal with being apart any longer. So far with the help of family, friends, and an awesome planning book I've been kicking butt and marking things off my to-do list like crazy. It seems like there's always something strange going on when it comes to weddings...now if I can just stay not stressed about it all ;)

  25. I've always loved wedding posts (and baby/pregnancy posts) even before I was engaged so I figure others will too...hopefully. ;) And I try to blog about what I'm doing currently anways so it only fits that this place is filled with all my wedding thoughts and planning.

    And definitely try out those Oreo balls!

  26. Thanks so much Kaylin. The more real it gets, the more anxious I become, but I know God will watch over us both! I definitely have a keeper! ;) We are actually moved into his grandparents' old house, so it actually makes since to live here over renting somewhere else...at least to start out with. I think it's hard because rent can easily be as much as renting/a mortgage on a house. That's a tough decision, I agree sometimes being an adult is no good.
