Eat Drink & Be Mary: Red Velvet Puppy Chow [ + a Giveaway ]

Red Velvet Puppy Chow [ + a Giveaway ]

Looking for a Valentine's day treat that you can manage?  This is it.  Seriously, SO easy and it's addicting.  Yes, it really is that good.  The perfect treat for your hubby, boyfriend, best friend, co-workers, or your kids school party.  Really y'all.  But don't take my word for it; try it out yourself.

One of the reasons that T and I work is that I love baking and he's my best taste tester.  The kid loves trying my baked goods; match made in heaven right here.  ;)

In fact, one of the first things I made for him was my Cake Batter Puppy Chow.  So it's only fitting to make her a Valentine's version.  Not to mention his affection for Red Velvet anything.

+ Rice Chex Cereal -- approx 4 cups
+ Candiquik (1 package)
+ Powdered Sugar -- approx. 1 cup
+ Red Velvet M&Ms

+ Melt 1/2 candiquick bar according to instructions on the package, in a microwavable bowl.
+ Pour in chex cereal (approx 1 1/2-2 cups) into the bowl, and coat with the melted candiquik.  *You just want the cereal evenly coated NOT too thick.
+ Put the powdered sugar in a large ziploc bag.
+ Immediately, scoop the cereal into the bag, close, and shake.  Shake well until all of the cereal is covered in the powdered sugar.
+ Take puppy chow out of the ziploc bag, and put into an air-tight container.  *I use my hands to make sure there's not a lot of access powered sugar in the container.  You can also use a slotted spoon.
+ Repeat.  Repeat this process until all of the candiquik is used.  ENJOY!

Have you decided what your giving your better half for Valentine's day?  What is your favorite Valentine's treat? Are you a puppy chow fan? Xox.

...and now the moment we've all been waiting for.  The giveaway.  Whether you're spending Valentine's with your man, a friend or alone you deserve a little pampering every now and then.  Sarah @ Coffee and Glitter and myself wanted to show you a little love this heart day.  Good luck.
