My Wish For You [ #WishesDelivered ]

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of UPS for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

You may remember a couple weeks ago I shared about giving back around the holidays. How it's easy to forget that the holidays is about more than presents under the tree. To remember those who aren't as fortunate. And to not take for granted those who sacrifice not only for our country but spending time with their own families around the holidays, too.

Why am I telling you this? Because I have a wish this year. A big wish, but a dream come true if it could happened; even in the smallest way.

My wish is that we could send care packages to the men and women that are overseas this holiday season that will miss out on sharing the holiday with their families. That they will get a taste of home in these boxes, and that they will be reminded that we are thinking of them. That we are thankful for their sacrifice of selflessness because we know without them, we may not be able to spend this time with our families. And that is the greatest gift of all.

While this wish may not be attainable by one person alone, there are several organizations that assist in making this dream come true. If you would like to join me in bringing a slice of home to the soldiers overseas this year I urge you to check out the site above to see how you can help.

One way you can give back? The UPS Wishes Delivered Campaign is donating $1 to one of their charity partners for every wish submitted (up to $100K total donations). I'll be submitting my wish on their site, and you can to (it's really easy!).

How to Submit a Wish:
Post your wish to Twitter or Instagram with the campaign hashtag #WishesDelivered and it will automatically be submitted. Another option is to go direct to the #WishesDelivered site and manually submit there.

Things to remember when submitting your wish:
+ it needs to be a sincere wish, not a superficial one (no wishes for a years supply of Starbucks y'all)
+ the wish needs to be for someone else, not yourself
+ include the hashtag #wishesdelivered with your wish (on twitter or instagram)

One wish that has been fulfilled? Making this little man's day.

I'm not going to lie I totally teared up while watching this video (so go grab yourself a box of tissues). It's amazing to see the way people are giving back. Check out how the UPS #wishesdelivered campaign made Carson the happiest little four year old boy by watching the video. Seriously, worlds cutest little driver.

I hope this post has inspired you to give back to the families of those who serve this season, and anyone in need. How do you plan to give back this year? What’s your wish?

  1. Oh my goodness! I am so glad you referenced that little boy's wish coming true. I watched that video three times and cried each time haha! We have made 8 care packages so far to send out overseas and a few to send to the men and women at my boyfriends brothers Air Force Base in Texas for the people that do not have families or are not able to go home for the holidays!

Great post! I am looking forward to working with you in the future!

  5. This is such a sweet post! I always make the effort to donate clothes to charities and food to food banks. I feel like people get caught up in consuming/shopping/buying gifts and forget that the holiday season is the season of giving- this is a great reminder!

  11. Very true. It's so fun to do all the shopping and all the jazz that comes along with Christmas. But it's super important to remember those that are in need as well, and of course the true meaning of Christmas above all.
