Eat Drink & Be Mary: Sweet & Salty Popcorn Mix

Sweet & Salty Popcorn Mix

Starbucks has officially moved up the beginning of fall this year.  With the release of their PSL, it has officially kicked off the Fall season this year.  This is super comforting to know.  The world has we know it is now in the hands of the people who get their kicks calling small cups "tall", putting whip cream on everything and has us silly humans giddy to pay $4+ a pop for their products.  And on that note, I'm really craving a pumpkin spice latte.  It's fall y'all!

Nothing says Fall like Caramel.  Other than pumpkin of course.  Caramel apples.  Caramel scented candles.  And caramel popcorn.  A couple weeks ago I discovered the MOST amazing caramel popcorn out there by GH Cretors.  Not an exaggeration.  Seriously.  And what's more fun than taking this fall flavor and creating a popcorn mix that just screams FALL?

Ingredients:
+ G.H. Cretors Caramel Popcorn (8oz bag)
+ Pretzels -- approx. half of a bag
+ Cashews -- approx. half a can
+ Salted Caramel Peanuts -- approx. half a can
+ Candiquick (white chocolate)
+ Mini Chocolate Chips -- approx. 1/3 of the bag

what to do: Set pretzels on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper.  Melt Candiquick according directions on packet, and then drizzle over pretzels.  Repeat process with cashews.  Mix all the ingredients.  I used the entire bag of Caramel Popcorn, and an equal amount of white chocolate drizzled pretzels.  Everything else I just eyeballed.  You don't want the ingredients to mask the deliciousness of the caramel popcorn, but it's all to your liking.

The key is to have a balance between the sweet and salty ;)  Creating an amazing sweet and salty popcorn mix.  That is MORE addicting than the popcorn by itself, believe it or not.  I didn't believe it was possible myself before tasting my recipe either!

G.H. Cretors pride themselves on making it just like their great-grandparents did, old-fashioned.  And they should the love and time they put into this product shows in the final product.  This is seriously the best caramel popcorn I've had since I can remember.

And it gets better -- they have a Chicago Mix (caramel & cheese popcorn) that is out of this world.  As in I ate two bags in two days.  My advice would be to get their Sampler Pack; plus it'll give you the popcorn you need for this recipe.

My mix disappeared in less than an hour.  Unbelievable.  But if you manage to have some left, this mix makes for a great gift, that is easily put into a mason jar and topped with a bow.  Plus we all know that mason jars are so fetch. ;)  #meangirlsanyone  So of course I jumped at the chance to put this fall mix in the mason jar.

What is your favorite fall flavor?  Now go out and make this popcorn mix, you'll fall in love with it.

ps. don't miss out on this AWESOME giveaway!

  8. My favorite Fall flavor is apple as in apple crisp and apple pie. Also apple scented candles scream Fall to me. I would also never turn away anything with caramel on it and I adore Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Pinning the popcorn recipe to my YUM board on Pinterest.
