Build Your Own Nachos

It's football season once again y'all.  All is right in the world.  And by that I mean I have two very happy men in my life--my dad and boyfriend.  I also mean, that my TV watching days are now over.  For the most part.  Football rules the TV every Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday now.  Oof!

One thing about football season that does get me excited?  Football parties.  And all the food and decorating that comes with them.  So with the kick off of college football last weekend, we celebrated with build your own nachos -- only to be disappointed that the Gators game was rained out.

The secret to the BEST build your own nachos there are?  Homemade tortilla chips.

Better yet?  They're easy to make.  Get small corn tortillas.  Cut them into fourths.  Pop them in the deep fryer for a couple minutes, until they are golden brown.  Drain them on a paper towel and add salt.

Believe me you'll thank me after trying this chips.  YUM!

As for the nachos... we set up the toppings buffet style.  That way everyone could top as they pleased.  Perfect for a football party, with so many people to please.  Another recipe perfect for a football party? Buffalo Chicken Dip.

Toppings Suggested (but not limited to):
Homemade Tortilla Chips
Shredded Cheese
Queso
Chicken
Avocado
Black Beans
Sour Cream
Tomatoes
Olives
Jalapenos
Salsa
Lettuce
Texas Pete CHA! (sriracha)

And you can't have a football party without some cute koozies, amiright?!  Such a score for $2 at Walmart.

What would you add to our nachos?  What is your favorite nacho topping?
What is your favorite football party food?
