Halloween Muddy Buddy Mix

Y'all I know I'm not going to be the only one to say this butttttt....where did September go?!  It's seriously blowing my mind that we're already nine months into this year.  Don't blink, when you open your eyes it'll probably be New Years Day!

Tomorrow is the first day of October, which means two things: my birthday and Halloween.  And since it's never too early to start looking forward to a holiday filled with dressing up and candy, I've already started brainstorming Halloween treat ideas.  First up, this Muddy Buddy mix.  

M&Ms has totally out done themselves lately, coming up with every flavor imaginable.  Way better than plain old chocolate in my opinion.  ;)  When I saw that they had "white chocolate Candy Corn" I knew I had to try it.  Thank goodness I did.  These suckers are completely addicting.  

the perfect treat for a Halloween party, after school snack, for the littles, your roommate, your spouse.  

...and it's such an easy treat to make.  EASY y'all.

Halloween inspired Muddy Buddy Mix
what you'll need: 
4 cups of Chex Cereal
1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup of peanut butter
1 1/2 cup of powdered sugar (approx.)
1 bag of Reese Pieces
1 bag of M&M's: white chocolate candy corn

what you do: 
1. Melt semi-sweet chocolate and peanut butter in the microwave, stirring every 10 seconds until melted.  
2. Stir in Chex cereal one cup at a time, covering the cereal in the chocolate mixture.
3. Pour the powdered sugar in a gallon sized ziploc bag.  
4. Put half of the Chex mixture into the powdered sugar, close the bag and shake it until the cereal is covered.  Repeat until all the mixture is covered in powdered sugar.
5.  Use a sifter to get rid of all the excess powdered sugar with your cereal.
6.  Mix in Reese Pieces and Halloween-y M&M's, as much as you like.  I used almost the entire bag of each.

Just Breathe.

Sometimes life is filled with moments that have you non-stop on the go.  That's how I feel lately.  Go go go.  But I forget that there is no need to rush things.  Life will happen as God plans.  It's times like these that I need the reminder to just breathe.  Sit back.  Pause for a moment.  Stop all the hustle and bustle.  Trust in God's plan.  And just breathe.
Are you ever in need of such a reminder?  To slow down.  Stop looking forward to the next stage in your life, and enjoy the one you're in now.  To just breathe.

So today I've decided to slow down.  To live in the now.  To not take for granted what I've been blessed with.  To let go of silly worries and trust Him.  To just breathe.

and if that doesn't work I'm just going to play with more glitter.  ;)

How to Organize your Bloglovin'

As of today this little space has been mine all mine for one whole year.  365 days.  That's just madness y'all.  I can't believe I've already spent a year filling this space with words, thoughts, pictures and memories.

This calls for three things.  Glitter.  Because well it's glitter.

Reflecting.  Yesterday I shared the "best of the best" of Eat Drink & Be Mary aka: the top 10 posts from the past year; according to y'all.

Blog talk.  Because what would a blogiversary be without talking about the one thing I've spent doing for the past year. [not a blogger?  stay tuned til the end, there's something for you too!]

Luckily for you I have Ashley here from The Grits Blog to share with you something that is truly life changing. Well in the world of blogging anyways.  This is a game changer for me.  

Not to mention Ash is one of my very first blogging friends from the beginning.  She is gem y'all.  Don't believe me?  Keep scrolling + who doesn't love playing with glitter?!

Hey! I am Ash! I blog over at The Grits Blog. It's a place that's all about crack, hair curlin', and fall transitionin' - heck sometimes I'm known to post a blog tutorial or two! 

After you finish learning how to organize your bloglovin' - make sure you stop by and say hey over in my neck of the woods!

I follow 339 blogs on Bloglovin'. THREE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-NINE! That's a whole lot of blog readin. Then if I miss a day of blog reading the bloglovin count is at like 250 or something crazy like that the next day. Part of my issue was I wanted to read my daily "must reads" and for sure my sponsors posts. Those were my priority - but having to sift through all of the other blogs I enjoy and follow was just plain irritating.  .

That is.

Until I figured out how to organize bloglovin. I learned how to to do this on another blog - I want to say on Helene's blog, but I just can't remember and can't find the post.

Either way - I am here today to spread the good word and news about how to fix the Bloglovin disorganization.

Step One:

In the top right hand corner, under your picture icon, hover over it and a drop down box will appear. Click "Edit blogs you follow".

Step Two:

Click "Change group" or "Create New Group".

If you click "Create new group" a box will open that let's you type whatever name you want for that group.

If you already have groups, then pick whatever group you have and it will automatically move into that group.

Step Three:

Done!! Now when you click on "My Feed" in the main menu header you will see this box on your right sidebar - it's a summary of all of your groups and shows how many unread blogs you have in each group.

365 days.

365 days.  That's how long this little ole blog of mine has survived here in blogland.  A whole year, tomorrow.  Now that calls for glitter and confetti.  Let the celebrating begin --

The community that makes up blogland is overwhelming and a blessing I never knew existed.  Blogging would not be the same without all of you.  Nothing makes me happier than receiving comments from my readers, emails from those who feel connected with me, and knowing that I've touched someone with a post.  And even more importantly how y'all have touched me through this past year.  I'd give you all a hug if I could.  So lets see those posts that were your most favorite of them all...
