Eat Drink & Be Mary: Pizza Bagels

6.10.2014

Pizza Bagels

Possibly my latest obsession for a quick and yummy lunch treat.  Bagels are my fave.  Seriously, more than once I've decided I could live off of bagels & Thomas would totally back me up on that statement.  So of course this recipe would quickly become one of my favorites, and was consumed A LOT this past week at the beach.  Pizza Bagels.

You only need three ingredients, and the rest are optional -- whatever you prefer on your pizza.  You know that's a recipe I'm gonna be crazy about.

You'll need:
Mini Bagels
Pizza Sauce
Mozzarella Cheese
Other pizza toppings, optional

What you do:

Preheat your oven to 350.  Cover a cookie sheet with tin foil.  Toast your bagels, on a high rack until they begin to brown.  Top the bagels with pizza sauce, plenty of cheese, and any other toppings you prefer.  Put these bad boys back in the oven (still on a high rack) for 5-7 minutes.  If prefered, you can put them on broil for the last 1 or 2 minutes to brown the cheese a little.  It's pretty much the only way to do these mini pizzas justice, but do as you please.

Ahh, my stomach is growling as I type.  So yummy, easy and a quick clean up.  A great lunch time meal or snack.  What twist on a bagel is your favorite recipe?  Have you ever had pizza bagels before?

  1. I used to make these all the time as a kid, but I used english muffins instead of bagels! But I think they would be even better with bagels... You've definitely inspired me to make these again, so easy & yummy!

  2. These remind me of bagels I used to eat back in the day when I could eat whatever. ;) I highly recommend sun-dried tomato bagels toasted with cheddar cheese on them--if you can find them. Walmart occasionally has them... or at least they did 10 years ago. ;) They taste like pizza and go amazing with Doritoes. And Dr. Pepper. Okay, I'm done now. ;)
