How To: No Mess Bacon

My love for bacon is no secret here, on this blog.  Bacon is God's gift to Earth -- I'm pretty sure anyways.  What I don't love is getting popped with grease while trying to make bacon.  Or putting it in the microwave and having to turn it every two minutes.  And least of all, I'm not loving the clean up process with all that excess grease.

Today I'm sharing with y'all a really easy way to make bacon.    A tip that'll give you less greasy bacon without all tending to the bacon every second while it's cooking.  Can I get an Amen??

Recently I shared my recipes for Bacon Pancake Dippers & Bacon Fried Rice; both HUGE hits in my house.  But then I realized I hadn't shared my tip for making the easiest, no mess bacon.  If you love bacon, you'll love this tip.

All you'll need is bacon (duh), a cookie sheet, a cooling rack, and aluminum foil.  Simply place the aluminum foil over the cookie sheet, the cooling rack on top of that, and then layer on the bacon.  If that's at all confusing just refer to the picture above.

The cooling rack will let the greasy drip through leaving you with less greasy bacon.  But what's bacon without the grease?  No worries, ALL the grease isn't gone, you're left with just the right amount on the bacon for that perfect greasy bacon-y taste. (you can see grease on the bacon in the picture below) The aluminum foil makes for a super easy clean up.  Simple as that.

Just cook your bacon at 350 for 17-20 minutes.  REALLY keep your eyes on the bacon those last couple minutes or it'll burn!

There you have it.  A really easy tip to make no mess, less greasy bacon.  I love that this makes for such a easy clean up, and I don't have to worry about getting popped with grease during the process.

Now if only I could figure out a way to make bacon without even getting out of bed.

What is the best cooking tip you know?  Any bacon lovers out there (like that's actually a question)?  Happy Cooking y'all.

  7. This is how I cook all of mine. I usually only cook it for about 12 minutes though. That way if I have to use some later on in the week, I can finish cooking it off without it burning.

  9. I love bacon, but not the fat, so this cooking method is perfect. To be real honest, I always trim the fat off the bacon and have just the meat left over.... Makes it a LOT less bacon, however!! :)

  10. I think the fat is the best part of the bacon, but only when super crispy. good thing I eat primal; bacon and saturated fat are GOOD. :)

  11. awesome tip! I've never tried baking it before. My roommate literally cooks a pound of bacon every week on his first day off, and it makes a huge mess. I'm sending this to him for sure, thanks for the tip!

  12. My favorite cooking tip is for halving cherry or grape tomatoes... Cut a whole bunch at once by sandwiching them between two plastic lids and cut with serrated knife! So. Much. Faster!
