Eat Drink & Be Mary: 44 Go-To Healthy Snacks

44 Go-To Healthy Snacks

If y'all haven't noticed by now I'm totally on a health kick.  But really what woman isn't right now?  Bikini season is officially among us & the first day of summer is in less than a week.  And we all know that means it's game time, no more putting off "getting fit" because the time is now.

I'm always searching for quick & easy snacks to hold me over until meal time when I'm trying to eat healthier.  Luckily (for us all) we have Teresa here from Eat Drink & Be Skinny today; and not only do I love the name of her blog, but she has a list of 44 healthy snacks.  Thank the good Lord, take it away Teresa...

Snacking is a big deal. It can save or sabotage all your healthy efforts. Healthy snacks are essential to keep you full of nutrition and energy in between meals. Having healthy snacks on hand will help keep your blood sugar stable, your metabolism humming and your hunger at bay. The wrong snacks (i.e usually something out of a vending machine) can be full of artery clogging saturated and trans-fats, preservatives and refined sugar. It might kick a craving for a minute or two, but could spike your blood sugar and leave you a mess less than an hour down the road. With all of that said, let me give you a little treat here, well 44 actually. And don't let the term weight loss scare you off. These aren't "diet tricks" these are just healthy snacks, full of natural goodness, beautiful color and fresh flavors. So you don't have to be losing weight to benefit from these healthy snack ideas.

Where did I get such a comprehensive and creative list of healthy snacks?

While I'd love to take the credit and say these are all a part of my Color Yourself Skinny system, that would be false (however, there are 42 healthy sweet and salty snacks in there too). But if I took credit for this list, that would fail to honor all the clever folks who helped bring it life. Because healthy snacks are such an important part of successful weight loss, I asked the group over at my Slender for Summer DietBet Weight Loss Challenge. We have over 900 healthy hopefuls in there who are on fire with enthusiasm and inspiring me every day! This list is a summary of the 90+ comments that came directly from the folks out there losing weight in a healthy and happy way. I consolidated some and have included bits of the recipes that were provided. I snagged some of the pictures that were shared too. So this is the real deal kids! Take a gander and make some shopping notes. Get ready to have an arsenal of healthy snacks on hand.
