Verses on Patience & Waiting on His Timing

Sometimes life is stressful.  It's not always butterflies and rainbows, but that's okay.   We are in good hands and God will bring us through it all.  I've figured out that the best way to deal with the stress and anxiety is to let go and let God and while doing that it is important to be patient and wait on His timing.

I'm constantly working on being patient and waiting on God's timing because even though I know He know what's best I struggle.  I struggle with being patient.  I struggle with waiting.  I struggle with not being able to control everything, and not having what I want when I want it.  But God knows what is best, so I must continue to strive to be patient and wait.  Wait for what he has planned.

But I can't do that alone.  I lean on God for strength and patience through prayer and His word.  And since I'm assuming I'm not the only one who doesn't live on Cloud 9 full time, I've decided to share my list of verses that I turn to when I'm struggling...

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope."

Psalm 40:1 "I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry."

Psalm 62:5 "Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him."

Luke 8:15 “… As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.”

Romans 8:24-25 "For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience."

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."

Isaiah 40:31 "Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary."

Psalm 62:8 "Trust in Him at all times, pour your hearts out to Him, for God is our refuge."
Psalm 37:9 "For evildoers will be cut off, But those who wait for the Lord, they will inherit the land."
Galatians 6:9  "And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary."

Psalm 37:7 "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him..."

John 13:7 Jesus replied, "you don't understand what I'm doing now, but someday you will."
Lamentations 3:25-26 The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”
Psalm 130: 5-6 I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning …”
Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!
Hebrews 10:36 "You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised."
Psalm 39:7-8 “And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You. Deliver me from all my transgressions ..."
Psalm 25:5 “Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day.”
Isaiah 25:1 "Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago."
Psalm 25:21 “Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for You.”
Ecclesiastes 3:11,17 He has made everything beautiful in its time … God shall judge the righteous and the wicked, for there shall be a time there for every purpose and for every work.”
...and my all time favorite
Romans 12:12  "Let your hope make you glad. Be patient in time of trouble and never stop praying."
