10 Songs I Could Listen to for the Rest of My Life

Today I'm sharing Ten Songs I Could Listen to for the Rest of My Life, as part of April's Blog Challenge that I'm co-hosting with I am Mrs. K.  To see the other topics for this month's challenge & to get more info check out this post.  I'd love for you to join us.

TEN --  MMMBop by Hanson
This was the first song I ever clogged to;  15 years later and I can still remember the dance we did to it.  I absolutely love when it comes on my 90's Pop Pandora Station.

NINE -- Wannabe by Spice Girls
Seriously, who doesn't love the Spice Girls.  In the third grade, my friends and I thought we were Spice Girls.  I'm pretty sure I was always Sporty Spice, which is kinda a joke considering my hand-eye coordination these days.  I've also probably seen the Spice Girls movie at least 10 times, no joke.

EIGHT -- Blessings by Laura Story
This is the perfect song for if you are going through a tough time.  It is so uplifting and has reminded me of God's glory and that he alone is all I need countless times.  If you have never heard this song, I strongly suggest you do!
SEVEN -- Genie in a Bottle Christina Aguilera
I have very vivid memories of singing this song in front of the mirror, dancing like a genie with my friends in the 5th and 6th grade.  I actually loved everything by Christina.

SIX -- I Want it That Way -- Back Street Boys
The Back Street Boys are an obsession that started in the third grade, and I haven't grown out of it yet.  I had almost every one of their CDs.  Could sing every word to every song.  And was convinced that Bryan would love me as much as I loved him if I could ever get the chance to meet him.  I even have a Back Street Boys pandora station.  Simply put, you can never go wrong with the Back Street Boys.  Never.  #obsessed

FIVE -- Mambo No. 5 - Lou Bega
Not only was this song a hit when it first came out, but just two years ago my friends and I listened to it on repeat for a solid hour.  Singing along with only the chorus of course.  And my name is in it, so I'm pretty much a star ;)  ps. Ever tried to karaoke this bad boy, impossible!

FOUR -- Drunk on You by Luke Bryan
This song came out when Thomas and I first started talking and it always reminds me of him.  The line "if you ain't a ten you're a 9.9" gets me everytime.  Swoon.  And really, who didn't love this song that entire summer?

THREE -- Stronger by Kelly Clarkson
Such a great message.  My roommates and I started listening to this after boy trouble of some sort and it easily became a favorite that was blasted over our speakers for months on end.  I can't even count the number of dance parties we had listening to this song.
TWO -- Home for Christmas CD by N*SYNC
Yes, this entire CD is number two on my list.  I could listen to the entire CD anytime of the year, I love Christmas songs and they have the best ones.  Super upbeat & I'm a sucker for a boyband.  My personal favorite is Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays.  It was even my ring tone once.  No shame.
ONE -- God Gave Me You; Blake Shelton
My favorite song of all time.  This was a tough decision.  But mine and T's song is obviously one of my favorites.  I could listen to it on repeat, and NEVER change the station when it comes on.  I know God gave me him, and I am thankful everyday for that.  Cheesy maybe, but its true.

  2. Yay! I'm already planning my post of this and was excited to see yours. Such a fun idea--and so hard! Weird story about "God Gave Me You": I don't know if you know that it's originally by Dave Barnes, a CCM singer, who wrote it. I saw him perform it at a conference in Nashville once, the first I'd heard of it or him. So then so long after that Blake Shelton came out with it and I was like, that's Dave Barnes' song! What in the world? And I've thought of it that way ever since, like I can't believe how a country artist made a CCM song so popular and the original has just been rather forgotten. Crazy! Anyway, that's my story. Love the list! :)

  5. I'm so in love with the fact that a good chunk of your list has 90's music on it. Definitely the best years, if you ask me :D And I could probably always, always listen to Britney Spears. I kind of grew up with her, so she'll always have a place in my heart.
