Have you ever heard of Puppy Chow (no, not dog food) or Muddy Buddies? The chocolate & peanut butter flavored chex mix treat. Well, if you haven't you're missing out. These bad boys are delicious.
Originially, Muddy Buddies are the brand you can buy in the store, and Puppy Chow is what people call it when they make it at home. I have found people use the two names interchangeably (if that's a word?).

Now that Valentine's Day has come and gone (my Valentine and I just celebrated this past weekend), and March is now here, I have been all about green & wee little men. As in, St. Patricks Day. The day where, if you're anything like me, you have to rummage through your closet hoping you own at least ONE thing in green so you won't spend all day getting pinched. So today I'm bringing you a treat perfect for this green-pinching day. Thin Mint Puppy Chow.
This recipe is VERY easy. Five ingredients. And only four steps.
This mixture was so delicious, and perfect for St. Patricks day with all the minty flavors going on. And the pretzels, were a nice twist on the more popular recipes. Such crunchy goodness.

Thin Mint Puppy Chow
Original recipe found here.

What you need to have:
5 C of Rice Chex Cereal
1 C of Pretzels
Mint M&Ms
What you need to do:
+ Put Rice Chex & Pretzels into a large bowl.
+ Pour Andes baking chips into a microwavable bowl. Heat in 30 second intervals until melted, and pour over chex & pretzel mixture.
+ Place half of the mixture in a plastic bag, pour in some of the powdered sugar, seal the bag & shake. Use a slotted spoon to remove chex & pretzels (avoiding excess powdered sugar). Repeat until all of the mixture is covered in powdered sugar.
+ Let the chocolate harden & add in the mint M&ms.
Store in a air tight container or serve right away. Enjoy my little leprechauns.
Do you celebrate St. Patricks Day? Will you be frantically searching for green, like me, this 17th? Have you ever had Muddy Buddies/Puppy Chow before? Do you have any "go to" St. Patty's Day recipes?
