Progress & Motivation

Operation Get Fit, is back in action over here.  All this snow and my workout buddy being outta town started to get me in a slump, but I refused to give up.  So I'm back today with more motivation for myself and you, and an update in my progress so far.  Happy Sweating loves.

My progress so far; I've lost-- 2.5 pounds, and starting to lose inches.
Question: When people say they've lost __ inches, this is measured where?  Belly? Waist?  Total?

I don't actually have a number in my head of what I want to be.  I want to look and feel healthier and more fit.  I'm not as concerned about dropping a bunch of pounds, but more focused on turning some of those pounds from fat to muscle.  Nonetheless, it helps to see progress and change.

I love putting on a cute workout tank, "doing"--as in braiding the front & pulling it all into a ponytail--my hair, & occasionally sporting some studs.  It takes little to no effort, as getting ready for the gym should, but I feel cute & it helps.  Believe me.

I've mentioned it before, and I'll probably mention it again.  But I love getting new workout clothes.  They motivate me to get to the gym to show them off, and when I feel cute (while pouring sweat in front of the fifty year olds that go to my gym) I feel more comfortable and willingly to work longer and harder.  This make no work for everyone but it does for me.  I've recently picked up some athletic wear from Old Navy, but I wouldn't mind having these pieces as well...

And lastly I leave you with my FAVORITE song that really helps me give that extra 110% during cardio sessions:

Drop It Low Girl by Ester Dean on Grooveshark

kidding...kind of.

What songs do you listen to at the gym?  Do you ever sport earrings at the gym?  What fitness quotes motivate you the best?  Do you have a pinterest fitness board, leave the link below.
Have you made progress since beginning your journey, I'd love to hear about it.

Today's the last day to enter the giveaway going on...what are you waiting for!

  4. I just started, but I work out at home. So I can wear whatever I want and it doesn't matter. My best motivation is that I have to snapchat a few of my friends when I finish every day!

  8. Thanks for linking up with us! A former trainer of mine would add up the deductions from each place of measurement to say "you've lost ___ lbs" and then specified 2 from waist, 1 from each arm, etc.

  10. I'm ready to get back to working out! I haven't been able to since I had major surgery at the end of Dec. I think I'm just going to ease back in it by doing Yoga! I have to start somewhere.
