On my mind lately...

Another Friday is here--yipee, *throws confetti*.  Just kidding, cause then I'd have to pick it up and that'd be a pain in the you know what.  But I am so glad it's Friday because that means my best friend came to town yesterday.  I've missed her so and can't wait to see her smart-lawyer-student-self.  So while I'm catching up with my favorite chick, here are five things on my mind lately for all friends that I'm crazy about but have never met (funny how that works aye?)...

ONE -- This.
So true....
Can I get an AMEN?!  I absolutely love accomplishing something that I pinned on Pinterest, mainly because 90% of the things I pin "to do later" never get a second look.  I just know I can't be the only one.  This button would come in handy for two of the recipes under "#3" and for the recipe I'm sharing this Tuesday...stay tuned loves.  Wanting a virtual applause for something you've completed from Pinterest?  Leave a link to it below and I'll check it out, complete with virtual confetti & appalause ;)

TWO -- Ghost of Boyfriends Past
Sharing some of my dating stories has been my favorite post yet.  Looking back to how I got to where I am today, makes me wanna bang my head against the wall & happy all at the same time.  Anyone else ever felt like that?  It also brings to mind two songs...

THREE -- My Recipe Magic
I was featured on My Recipe Magic x3,  how cool is that?  I'm ecstatic!! (exclamation points all around) And to top it off, three times!! Check it out & (my personal favorite part) find out the nutritional facts of my recipes.  My recipes were featured here, here and here

FOUR -- Boutique Love.
Two boutiques I have been obsessing over recently are Flourish Boutique and White Plum Boutique.  They both have the trendiest items, that I would gladly accept into my closet any day of the week.  And lucky me, this past week an item from each boutique showed up there.  I am so excited to share two pieces that will be a go-to for me all spring and summer.  But for now I'll just leave you with this sneak peek.  Come back Tuesday & Wednesday for the entire posts on these amazing boutiques.  I'm bursting at the seems to show y'all...eek!  Believe me you don't wanna miss this (hint hint).

FIVE -- Spalfredo Pasta
Did you catch my twist on the two classic pasta dishes?  The two yummy sauces combined (spa+lfredo) make an even more delicious dish.  A wonderfully easy dish to make any night of the week to mix it up from the usual spaghetti and alfredo.

Thanks to all of you that participated in the giveaway I had this past week, the winner will be posted Monday, stay tuned :)  Cheers my loves!  I hope your weekend is full of sunshine & laughter.  And no more snow, pretty please!!

ps. I'd like to welcome Miss Rhea to the bottom of my posts, stop by and tell her hello!

My Ghosts of Boyfriends Past

Not to long ago, I started writing this post, and stopped.  Then recently Bonnie @ The Life of Bon wrote a post on her dating horror stories & hosted a link up for others to join in.  Even though I'm way late to the party I still want in on the action.  So here's my version.  My Ghosts of Boyfriends Past.

My First "Boyfriend".  We started dating the summer after 5th grade.  It lasted two weeks, and we never saw each other once.  That is what I call a solid first boyfriend.

The "Bad Boy" I dated in the 8th grade.  I'm not exactly sure why I ever dated said bad boy, I knew my parents would never approve.  But I don't think it was for rebellion.  We dated for a mere month, mainly during Christmas Break (2 or 3 weeks).  I never tried to invite him over, and never wanted to go hangout at his house either.  I knew my parents wouldn't let me, but I didn't try to do it anyways.  I guess my mom just hoped I go through that phase real fast, and indeed I did.

Then there was my best friend at the time, who wrote me a lovely note stating I would be smoking pot and become pregnant by the age of 15.  Atta girl best friend, way to have my back and be there when I clearly didn't know what I was doing.  By the way neither happened.

The Coward.  In high school I dated a guy for two months, in which we went to Homecoming together (big deal lemme tell ya), and he had his friend--an ex-boyfriend of mine whom I broke up with--text me to break up for him.  So in case you didn't follow that, the coward had an ex text me to break up with me for him.  Wow.  It left me speechless, and still to this day baffles me.

The "Bad Boy" I dated my freshman year of high school.  At this point, I wondered if I only wanted to rebel in the winter.  My parents did not approve of this boy either, and rightly so.  He was a year older than me, but in the grade below me.  He also had been to juvy, cue red flags.  I saw him once.  The first time I met him (after we started dating--what was I thinking) I discovered he smoked.  Gross.  And one time he gave my friend a necklace to give to me for a Christmas present, why he didn't give it to me I don't know.  I then broke up with him via phone--but in my defense we never saw each other.

My First "Real" Boyfriend. Simply put.  He was not my forever, not even close.  Date. Break up. Date. Break up.  Eventually I just got with it, and decided it wasn't worth it.  He told everyone he broke up with me.  He didn't.  I decided that didn't really matter because really, what difference does that make?

The Pathological Liar.  I could write an entire post on all that I learned from this relationship, but I won't.  Quite like your title you lied to me, constantly, daily, and entirely way too often.  You taught me how to stick up for myself, that I deserved better than how you treated me, and that no one deserved to be treated how you treated me.

The Rebound. I told myself you'd be the next guy I dated, and that you were.  You were the rebound that helped me get over one of the longest mistakes learning experiences I've ever made.  And for that I am truly sorry.  However, you did your job quite well Mr. Rebound.  And for that I am truly thankful.

The Third Times NOT the Charm. This relationship started via facebook message, because that's how all good relationships start (actually I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of relationships sparked first on social media).  We fought, and we fought hard.  All. The. Time.  There's nothing wrong with fighting in a relationship, but this was extreme.  After breaking up and getting back together three times, I realized that the third time was not the charm and the fourth and fifth wouldn't be either.

Mr. Persistent.  We met in the fall of my junior year of college, hung out once, and then didn't speak again until five months later.  As summer break approached he began asking me to hang out everyday for two weeks, and I shut him down every time.  But this boy wasn't giving up, he offered to take me to baseball games, make me dinner, take me fishing, go to the river with a group of friends, and I just kept giving him reasons why I couldn't.  Finally one night I gave in.  We hung out, me talking non-stop, of course, and him just listening.  That's all it took, one night and I was hooked.  After that we were inseparable for the next two weeks until school let out for summer.  And the rest is history.  Mr. Persistent's dad told me not too long ago, "'re in luck Mary.  Once he decides what he wants, his mind is set and he doesn't let up".  Ain't that the truth ;) And for that I thank God.

So tell me, do you have any funny or horrific dating stories?  Do share!
And before you go, welcome the girl at the bottom of this post, this month's sponsor, Rhea.

Delicious Dish Tuesday Link Up + Features

Welcome to a new week of Delicious Dish Tuesday, where we share our recipes and ask you to share YOUR awesome recipes with us!  Last week we had some delicious looking recipes shared, I love finding all these new recipes to add to my "to-do" list.  This past week my favorite recipe was shared by Lindsay @ Broke and Bougie.

Spalfredo {a twist on two classic dishes}

...Spalfredo.  pronounced sp-al-fray-dough

Ps. Don't forget to link up for Delicious Dish Tuesday this week!

Tired of having plain old spaghetti or alfredo?  Well today I am bringing you a delicious solution.  The perfect blend of the two classic sauces, and boy! is it a yummy result. Sometimes it's just time to mix it up and try something new in the kitchen, and thanks for good ole Pinterest I found just that.
This dish was re-named Spalfredo by my oh-so-clever dad.  Spa+lfredo is a delicious cheesy pasta that is easy to make.  You simply make the pasta, mix the sauces, add cheese, bake and wahhlaa dinner is served.  But for those of you, like me, that need a recipe to follow here's how you make this dish...

Spalfredo Pasta
original recipe found here

What you need:
- One box of penne pasta
- 1 jar of spaghetti sauce (24oz)
- 1 jar of alfredo sauce (11oz)
-2 C mozzarella cheese, shredded
-1 C parmesan cheese

What to do:
Preheat oven to 350.
1. Bake the pasta, almost all the way.  It will finish cooking in the oven.
2. Mix sauces together and add mozzarella cheese.
3. Mix pasta and sauce together and pour in a 9x13 pan.
4. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes, until bubbly.  Add parmesan cheese on top and cook for 5 more minutes.
5.  Serve with garlic bread/knots and enjoy!

Have you ever heard of this pasta dish?  Do you prefer spaghetti or alfredo sauce?  Does your family get a kick outta making up names for things?  Have you entered in my giveaway? Happy Tuesday loves.

Lipstick & Horse Racing

I'm completely scatter brained at the moment, so here's a brain dump of sorts, humor me will you?

Oh, and don't forget to enter the giveaway going on.

- Sammy Dress.  When this company contacted me to work with them I was delighted.  Take one look at their website and you'll understand why.  They have the cutest clothes, including this Scoop Neck Long Sleeve shirt in coffee & black.  I love the way the color blocking give you an elongated look, tall and slimming is a good look on anyone.  And they are quality clothes for great prices, no joke.  I'm not even exaggerating.  A couple of my other favorites are here and here.  And to top it all off, their spring fashion is up to 60% off.

- #Bloggeredumacation.  I just can't get over the amount of useful knowledge this girl has to share through her #bloggeredumacation series.  Thinking about hosting a giveaway?  She has the rules broken down easy enough to understand.  Want to track your blogger stats?  She has advice & a worksheet for you to use.  You name it, she's probably read a post on it.  I'm could not stop reading all these tips and advice when I came across her site.  Enjoy!

I'm well aware I look almost exactly the same, but that's because I still look like I'm 16 years old.

- Real World Status.  The other day I had a question about NC laws, and I actually had someone to ask (my brilliant law student of a best friend).  Which brought to mind two questions: 1. Since when did I start caring about the law?  Kidding, kinda.  2. Since when did we grow up and become old enough to be college graduates/law students?  No thank you real world, I'll go back to the days of coloring and playing dress up now.

- Rimmel Moisture Lipstick.  I recently received my first Influenster voxbox, how exciting.  Giving me this brand new lipstick by Rimmel, shade 360 " as you want Victoria".  I'm beyond excited to start using it.  The color is perfect for spring, (bold and a little bright) and goes on as smooth as chapstick.  Now that's what I'm talking about.  I can see myself wearing this for a date night in the near future ;) ps. I'm also wearing the lipstick in the first picture.

Mini Weekend Recap.  For starters, I'm still in SC so my weekend isn't really over, yet.  I spent my Friday night watching T coach baseball, and Saturday was the Steeple Chase where I won 2 of my bets, and 15 buckaroos.  Boo-yah!  Here's a sneak peek for y'all...

Soo tell me what's on your mind lately?  Is your Monday as unorganized and chaotic as mine?
