Eat Drink & Be Mary: Oreo Balls

Oreo Balls

The holidays bring so much joy to my little heart.  Family.  Friends.  Food.  Especially food.  I took advantage of all my family coming over to my parents house and decided to whip up some yummy treats.  One thing that pushes me over the edge in love with a dessert is when you can easily pick it up and go.  No need for plates, forks, or fancy spatulas made especially to serve pie.  You just need to the two hands God gave you and off you go.  So today I bring you Oreo Balls.  And as if you weren't sold on making this for you and yours already, it is the perfect recipe to bring your little helpers into the kitchen for.

Ingredients:
  • 1 pack of Oreos (approx. 36)
  • 1 package (8oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 package of white chocolate melting candy (Candiquick)
  • Food Processor
  • Cookie Sheet lined with wax paper

Instructions:
Put the Oreos in a food processor until crushed completely.  Mix together the softened cream cheese and crushed Oreos.  Roll into balls and place onto the wax-paper-lined-cookie sheet.  Place toothpicks or cake pop sticks into oreo balls. Chill for 1 hour (or freeze for 30 min.).

Melt chocolate according to the directions on the package. (Even though most melting choclates come with something to melt chocolate in--I find it best to place chocolate in a microwavable bowl and melt).  Dip oreo balls in the melted chocolate.  Using a spoon to cover the top of the ball.  Let the chocolate harden.

 Eat & Enjoy!!
