Eat Drink & Be Mary: My Weekend in Pictures

My Weekend in Pictures

And just like that tomorrow's Monday.  I don't know why it always seems like the weekend passes in a blur and before you know it, it's time for another week of school.  This weekend was no exception.

Pumpkin fluff + Ginger Snaps = The best thing you've ever tasted --> try it!

In the south, there are few things that we southerners love more than eating.  And any chance we find to eat, we do.  Celebrating something?  We should eat!  Mourning a loss?  Let me bring you some food to help you cope.  You name it, and we'll find a reason to add food into the equation.
So at the school I'm student teaching at we have a "pod" lunch once a month to celebrate birthdays or any other event worth celebrating.  Very similar to a potluck, and it is by far my favorite day of the month.  Friday we had "pod lunch" to celebrate my birthday, and the student teachers.  And boy was it to die for!  Unfortunately, my pictures do not do it justice.  I really need a legit camera.  Hint Hint Mom and Dad if you're reading this. ;)

Buffet of scrumptious foods--be jealous!

Just to list a few: Chili, Pumpkin Soup, Croissants, Black Bean Salad, Banana Pudding and Pumpkin Fluff with Ginger Snaps were all consumed during our celebration.  Needless to say, this girl was stuffed like a Turkey on Thanksgiving.

Friday night Thomas and I stayed in and watched baseball and Grownups 2.  It was relaxing to stay in for a weekend and just chill.  The night was filled with Pinterest, laughter, and getting to spend time with my sweet boyfriend.  Often during the week it seems like we are always on the go and never have time to spend quality time together. Friday night was a breath of fresh air..and I loved it.  Does this mean I'm officially growing up?  I think a little part of me just died, please mourn the loss of my youth.

Saturday morning began with yet another 8:30am class.  I have never, ever been a morning person.  Seriously, ask my roommate--talk to me in the morning and you will get a death stare or worse.  However, on Saturday morning I woke up feeling refreshed at 8:15am.  Say what??  I know it's crazy, I don't know what has gotten into me; I'm seriously starting to scare myself.  Could this possibly be another sign of growing up?  Just call me Granny and give me a pair of knitting needles...what is my life coming to!  My Saturday class was made better by my wonderful roommate who brought me Chic-Fil-A.  Yum! I'm blessed, believe me I know it.

Saturday's OOTD--and the cutest scarf Thomas' mom got me
Don't worry we were parked.

After practice, Saturday night was another low key night.  Thomas took me to Weaverville's finest (aka: Bojangles) and then we took an adventure to the local Walmart.  And yes it was an adventure--anywhere with him turns into an outing full of laughter and pure happiness. The boy just gets me and knows how to make a girl laugh.  Returning back to campus, I spent my night baking and painting my nails.  I have to say that I baked the yummiest pumpkin muffins and they were SUPER easy (more to come on that later).

Sunday was spent clogging; our national competition is THIS Saturday!!  Enough said.  No? Well more to come on this later.  But we'll pretty much be practicing our bootys off the rest of the week preparing.  So pray for our bodies and sanities.

And that's it loves.
I hope you had a great weekend,
and have a fantastic Monday (if that's possible).
Stay tuned for more of this week's shenanigans and
the pumpkin muffin recipe.
